Yesterday morning, we awoke in our cherished New Mexico safely and without delay — our hearts still filled with excitement and gratitude for fellow artists, generous collectors, and for being even just a small part of @briscoenightofartists. It is the thrill of a lifetime to be welcomed with such open arms, hospitality, and love. Our fingers are crossed for everyone’s continued success and that once again our paths shall meet sooner rather than later. May peace be with us all inside and out.

It is always surprising to me each time I start a

It is always surprising to me each time I start a new painting how often it is terrifying. There is always the doubt if I can do another. How is a painting made? What did I do last time? What makes a good painting? Perhaps it is because the paintings I do now are more important than the ones before. Or perhaps it is the obligation of new paintings to uplift or at least be in tandem the older paintings. I’m not really sure. What I have found is that the only thing to do is to paint and to trust the process. Eventually the thoughts will go away. One stroke and then another and it almost always works out. And along the way, the painting never looks good until it does. The only thing left is trust.

@smchavezart - Extraordinary and full of gratitude. Many a thank-you to each and every bidder at this years Western Horizons auction. As I looked around the room at all of the outstanding artwork at this year’s show I couldn’t be any more happy to be even a small part of it. Many blessing to everyone @legacygallery for working so hard to make the show such a large success and congrats to @westernspirt. Already looking forward to 2027.

Truly an extraordinary weekend at Western Horizons with collectors, friends and fellow artists old and new. Thrilled to report it was a sell out show for me personally with both fixed price and auction items. I really am so grateful and stunned at the opportunity I have been given. Shout out to my host and to those who so generously drove me here and there despite my protest. I’ve been treated far too well. Let’s do another show.
